Mutual Aid Fund

About the Cambridge Mutual Aid Fund (CMAN)
We started this fund in late-March when we realized that many of our neighbors would be stranded in the widening gap between their last paychecks and the hope of future assistance. As formal grant programs began to disburse, we acknowledged there were many who were were unable to qualify. That's where we come in. To date we have redistributed more than $50,000 in direct aid + critical care packages for the local community -- for both families and individuals in need.
When folks reach out to us about financial assistance, we provide holistic support through connecting individuals to local resources, formal programs, and our wonderful volunteers to ensure the needs of the community are met
We are committed to the values of solidarity not charity, choosing to trust each other, transparency, and respecting the dignity of all. We will continue to post all transactions of money moving in and out on a shared spreadsheet and maintain the privacy of recipients.

Would you like to help sustain the fund?
Our fund will still rely upon the generosity and solidarity of community members to sustain it.
If you have donated before, please consider donating again. If you haven’t please consider donating for the first time. It is only with your assistance that we can continue to provide urgently needed direct-aid to fellow residents to cover things like rent, utilities, food, supplies and medical bills.
To make our fundraising most effective, we have partnered with the Democracy Center, a Cambridge-based nonprofit. To contribute, go to paypal.me/democracycenter and enter your amount. Write "For CMAN Fund" in your payment note, and deselect the "Paying for goods or a service?" box.
